Research Assistant: Essays in Honour of Stephen Weatherill (Copyediting)

Sanja Bogojevic, Jeremias Adams-Prassl, Ariel Ezrachi and Dorota Leczykiewicz are looking for a research assistant to help them prepare for publication a book ‘The Internal Market Ideal: Essays in Honour of Stephen Weatherill’
The work will involve the copyediting of chapters submitted by the book’s contributors, including improving their readability and making sure that the chapters are free of language errors and inconsistencies. The research assistant will also be asked to check and correct footnotes and ensure format consistency across chapters.
Duration and hours
Working hours: a total of 50 across the duration of the project, to be agreed with the Supervisor.
Start date: 20 June 2022
Date by which the work must be completed: 09 September 2022
Reporting
The Research Assistant will report to Dorota Leczykiewicz.
Requirements
- Prior copyediting experience is essential.
- Good knowledge of European Union law is desirable.
- The work can be done in any place in the UK where you have access to a good library and internet. Meetings with team members will be held in online.
Eligibility
This position is open to current graduate students in the Law Faculty and the hours are in line with the restrictions on working hours for students in the Law Faculty.
Rate of Pay
This will be paid at the standard research assistant rate of £15.60 per hour (based on Grade 6 point 1) plus holiday pay of £1.88 per hour worked (= total of £17.48/hour). Holiday pay will be paid in the month in which is accrued.
Funding
This position is funded by the Law Faculty Research Support Fund.

Guidelines for Faculty members, line managers and students Work must not commence without a letter of engagement or variable hours contract and a right to work check having been carried out by the Faculty Personnel Officer. Full time graduate students in the Faculty of Law may work up to 8 hours per week, or a common sense average across the year, regardless of the type of work. Students may not work as Research Assistants for their own supervisor without the approval of the Associate Dean for Graduate Students.
