Professor Anne Davies is looking for a research assistant to help prepare chapters for publication in the forthcoming edited collection Landmark Cases in Labour Law (Hart Publishing). The research assistant will be responsible for checking that each chapter complies with the publisher’s style guide. There are 14 chapters in the collection and we are expecting authors to submit them in December/January.
Duration and hours
Total number of hours of work available: 60
Maximum number of hours of work per week (or explain variable arrangements): 8
Start date: 13 December 2021 or as soon as possible thereafter
Date by which the work must be completed: 28 February 2022
The Research Assistant will report to Professor Anne Davies.
This post requires:
- prior knowledge of, or willingness to familiarise yourself with, the Hart Publishing style guide
- good editing skills and attention to detail
- initiative in resolving queries yourself where possible
- ability to liaise with authors to address any problems.
Familiarity with labour law is not essential but may be helpful.
This position is open to current graduate research students in the Law Faculty and the hours are in line with the restrictions on working hours for students. It is expected that the work will be undertaken in the UK.
Rate of Pay
12 weeks or less (casual engagement): This will be paid at the standard research assistant rate of £15.60 per hour (based on Grade 6 point 1) plus holiday pay of £1.88 per hour worked (= total of £17.48/hour).
