Dr Dorota Leczykiewicz is looking for two research assistants to help with a book project on EU Tort Law, examining the EU rules of compensatory liability and the areas where they play a major role (competition law, consumer law including digital services, equal treatment and IP). The research assistant(s) will be asked to collect the case law, provide summaries, review the relevant literature and assist with editorial work.
Duration and hours
Total number of hours of work available: 100 hours in total, to be divided between the two RAs.

Start date: 1st October 2021
Date by which the work must be completed: 17th December 2021
The Research Assistant will report to Dr Dorota Leczykiewicz.
- A reasonable understanding of the field of EU Law and/or Tort law is essential.
- Familiarity with the relevant case law databases is desirable.
- The post requires good research and writing skills.
This position is open to current graduate research students in the Law Faculty and the hours are in line with the restrictions on working hours for students. It is expected that the work will be undertaken in the UK.
Rate of Pay
12 weeks or less (casual engagement): This will be paid at the standard research assistant rate of £15.37 per hour (based on Grade 6 point 1) plus holiday pay of £1.86 per hour worked (= total of £17.23/hour).
This position is funded by the Law Faculty’s Research Support Fund award RSF2021-23.
