Research Coordinator, Foundations of Law and Constitutional Government

Grade 8: £40,792- £48,677 per annum

Applications are invited for a Research Co-ordinator to work on the Programme for the Foundations of Law and Constitutional Government sits within the Faculty of Law and is led by Co-Directors Nicholas Barber and Richard Ekins.  The purpose of the Programme is to encourage and facilitate the study of constitutions, constitutional law, constitutional theory, and constitutional history. 

The Research Co-ordinator will undertake research in an area or areas that fall within the scope of the Programme for the Foundations of Law and Constitutional Government. Working closely with the Directors of the Programme, the Research Co-ordinator will play a lead role in the Programme’s research agenda; initiating, as well supporting the running of projects and events; support the  Directors in the management and co-ordination of the Programme; and in helping to shape the research projects and events undertaken by the Programme. 

The successful applicant should hold a relevant PhD/DPhil with post-qualification research experience; have a strong publication record and familiarity with the existing literature and research in the field; possess sufficient specialist knowledge in the discipline to develop research projects and methodologies and demonstrate the ability to independently plan and manage a research project, including a research budget.  Experience of supervising staff and managing a research budget is desirable.

The post is fixed term for one year and available from 1 July 2020. The post is full time but it may be possible for the role to be held part-time.
