Researcher, Centre for Socio-Legal Studies (Internal applicants only)

Grade 7: £32,817 - £40,322 per annum

The Researcher will be a member of the Centre for Socio-Legal Studies and will work in its media law and policy research cluster, https://www.law.ox.ac.uk/centres-institutes/centre-socio-legal-studies/law-digital-world-programme-comparative-media-law-and. They will have responsibility for carrying out research on media and migration and will report to Professor Linda Mulcahy, Director of the Centre for Socio-Legal studies.

The roleholder will be expected to manage own academic research and administrative activities,  this involves small scale project management, to co-ordinate multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines; adapt existing and develop new research methodologies and materials; prepare working theories and analyse quantitative data from a study of migrants in Italy; prepare working theories and analyse quantitative data from a study of migrants in Italy , reviewing and refining theories as appropriate; contribute ideas for new research projects and develop ideas for generating research income, and present detailed research proposals to senior researchers.

The successful candidate must hold a relevant PhD/DPhil, together with relevant experience in migration studies; possess sufficient specialist knowledge in the discipline to work within established research programmes; ability to manage own academic research and associated activities; previous experience of contributing to publications/presentations and the ability to contribute ideas for new research projects and research income generation.

The post is full time and fixed term for 3 months.
