The Division are welcoming applications for funding to the Division’s Teaching Development and Enhancement Project (TDEP) awards. Please return applications to Cathy King (Quality Assurance Officer), qa@socsci.ox.ac.uk, by noon on Friday 10 January 2020.

The TDEP awards grant funding to applicants wishing to run a project, event, or activity aimed at enhancing teaching provision at either undergraduate or graduate level, or both. Awards are made under one of two categories:

  1. DTP related: The development of initiatives which support the sharing of research methods and skills training underpinning the Division’s Doctoral Training Strategy. Awards can be made up to £10,000.
  2. General (non-DTP): projects focussing on developing or enhancing learning and teaching for graduates and/or undergraduates. Awards can be made up to £6,000 for projects benefitting one department, and £10,000 for projects benefitting two or more departments/ units.

Staff members wishing to take the PGCert in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education are also able to submit an application to support a ‘buy out’ with the agreement of their department.

Eligibility and how to apply

The scheme is open to all departmental academic and CRS staff who teach, plus administrative or technical staff who teach (e.g. certain areas of research skills training) within the Division’s remit. Interested parties will need to submit a brief application to the Division of no more than 3,000 words. All applications will be judged by an academic sub-panel of the Division’s Quality Assurance Committee who will decide which projects to award funding to.

Please refer to guidance notes for full information about eligibility and submitting an application.
