Lady Margaret Hall and the University of Oxford invite applications from suitably qualified candidates for the above post starting on 1 September 2016. The successful candidate should have: a record of high quality research and publication commensurate with their career stage, and the potential to produce further significant output of the highest quality during the tenure of the post; The successful candidate will be a committed teacher able to devise and give high-quality tutorials, classes, and lectures. S/he will be required to teach undergraduates in tutorials, provide pastoral care in the College, and contribute to Governance as a Trustee.

The College’s requirement is for someone able and willing to teach three topics from Administrative Law, Constitutional Law, EU Law, Jurisprudence, Criminal Law, Contract Law or Tort Law (candidates may currently be able to teach only two topics, but must be capable of and willing to ‘work up’ a third topic). For the Faculty of Law s/he will give not fewer than sixteen lectures in each academic year in any undergraduate or graduate subject offered by the Law Faculty, with a preference for teaching in Criminal Law, and provide supervision and research leadership for doctoral students.

As a member of both University and College communities, and with access to the excellent research facilities which Oxford offers, the Associate Professor will be part of a lively and intellectually stimulating research environment which performs to the highest international levels. The combined College and University salary will be on a scale from £45,066 to £60,513 per annum plus benefits including a College housing allowance of £7,956 and a research and book allowance of £1,460 per annum.
