Anany's current project focuses on performers’ position in relation to copyright law, by comparing performers’ rights with other copyrights, regarding their history, management and processes of legislative change. In this seminar she will discuss these, based on a case study on the Fair Internet for Performers Campaign (FIPC) being carried out with Adrian Aronsson-Storrier (Reading). Launched in May 2015, this EU campaign seeks to turn performers’ exclusive making available rights into rights to equitable remuneration. Drawing on interviews with stakeholders, she will reflect on the emerging discourses and will assess the success of the campaign so far.
