Hearing Young Voices: Exploring the power of drama in research on youth mental health

Dr Roxana Willis will talk about her British Academy postdoctoral research on youth mental health, which involves developing forum theatre into an innovative participatory research method that seeks to empower young people in the research process. Willis recently completed three sets of comparative forum theatre workshops in a leading state school, a struggling state school, and a private school in England, UK. In this talk, Willis will discuss the development of the method, benefits and challenges of the approach, and some of her preliminary research findings.
