In this talk, Changhao Wei will offer an overview of the national legislative process in China, including the legislative planning practice and post-legislative “recording and review” process that ensures consistency in the legal system. He will also discuss key institutions in the lawmaking process, including the National People’s Congress (NPC), its Standing Committee (NPCSC), and their subordinate bodies.

 
About the speaker:
Changhao Wei is the founder, manager, and editor of the National People’s Congress Observer blog, where he and a small staff provide reporting, analysis, and original research on China’s national legislature. Changhao is currently a third-year Juris Doctor candidate at the Harvard Law School. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology, and a minor in French, from the University of California, Los Angeles. He is from Nanjing, China.
