Fixed-term Administrative Assistant (International Human Rights Law)
Grade 5: £27,131 - £32,248 per annum
The Faculty of Law is seeking to appoint an Administrative Assistant (International Human Rights Law) to manage a range of day-to-day financial, HR and teaching administrative processes in support of the MSc in International Human Rights Law and the Summer Programme in International Human Rights Law. These long-standing programmes will transfer from the Department for Continuing Education to the Faculty of Law in the Social Sciences Division on 1 September 2022. The postholder will be responsible for supporting this migration during the first year after transition.
The Administrative Assistant will provide support in accordance with university financial controls and HR policy, and play an important role in helping to manage the transition of the programmes from Continuing Education to the Law Faculty’s internal policies and processes. The postholder will support and advise administrative and academic staff, and students, and will work most closely with the Senior Administrator for International Human Rights Law. The postholder will be an important member of the administrative team in the Faculty of Law, led by the Head of Administration and Finance and the postholder will report to the Law Finance Manager until a Deputy Finance Manager is in post.
The applicant should have experience of Financial and/or HR and/or Academic Administration; be educated to A Level standard or equivalent; be competent using Microsoft Word, Excel and databases; able to organise own workload and work to deadlines and have experience of interpreting and applying financial and HR policies. An understanding or experience of University’s Oracle, SAP Concur E-expenses and/or PeopleXD financial system and willingness to undertake training on systems not previously used is desirable.
The post is fixed term for 12 months and full time. The postholder will be based in the Faculty of Law, St Cross Building, St Cross Road, Oxford, OX1 3UL.
