John Fell Senior Research Assistant
The postholder will be reporting to the John Fell Research Fellow and Co-Investigator on the grant (Dr. Naomi Lott), they’ll also be a member of the research group with responsibility for the provision of research support for the ‘Developing a Framework for the Implementation of the Right to Play’ project funded by the John Fell fund.
The postholder will manage their own research and administrative activities, within guidelines provided by senior colleagues; contribute to wider project planning, including ideas for new research projects; select, follow, and adapt specialist methodologies to confirm or refute theories, and identify suitable alternatives where information or research material is restricted; contribute to the design of research materials and make arrangements for data gathering; gather, analyse, and present qualitative and/or quantitative data from a variety of sources and undertake comprehensive and systematic literature reviews and write up the results for publication in peer-reviewed journals or for presentation at conferences or public meetings.
The successful candidate should hold a first degree, together with some relevant experience; be working toward a doctorate in a specialist discipline; possess sufficient specialist knowledge in the discipline to work within established research programmes; be able to manage their own research and administrative activities and have excellent communication skills, including the ability to write text that can be published, present data at conferences, and represent the research group at meetings. Experience of working with schools, nurseries or colleges, ideally for research purposes and working with children, ideally for research purposes is desirable.
This post is part time (0.4 FTE) and fixed term until 31 July 2024. The postholder will be based at the Bonavero Institute of Human Rights, Faculty of Law, Mansfield College, Oxford, OX1 3TF
