MSc Taxation Teaching Facilitators 2024
We are looking for volunteers to sign up to be available to help with MSc Taxation teaching during the remainder of this academic year. A list of volunteers for this work will be kept by the MSc in Taxation office. Inclusion on the list does not guarantee work, but your availability will be notified to any teacher looking for assistance.
The role of the Teaching Facilitator is to support the delivery of Zoom recordings for in-person classes on the MSc in Taxation programme. The Teaching Facilitator is required to be available for instances when an MSc in Taxation student is unable to attend class due to unforeseen circumstances and has permission from their supervisor to access the recordings. Requests like these often come at the last minute. Most of the MSc in Taxation Classes are taught in Oxford colleges and departments.
The duties of the MSc Taxation Teaching Facilitator role are detailed below.
Terms and Conditions
Anyone is eligible for this work but the priority will be given to graduate students at the Law Faculty. It is not possible to be a Teaching Facilitator for a class that you are attending as a student.
The work will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
The hourly rate of pay is £17.03 per hour (equivalent to the hourly rate at Grade 6 point 1). Hours of work must be agreed upon in advance with the MSc in Taxation Administrator, who must also approve the subsequent claim using our standard timesheet. The hours of work will be based on the contact hours. Appointments are for the 2023-24 Academic Year, and this work is subject to the University guidelines on limits to paid work undertaken by graduate students (see Paid Work Guidelines for Oxford Graduate Students | Academic Support for details).
A Teaching Facilitator may already be a GTA or otherwise engaged by the Faculty (please note that if this is the case, an appointment letter and right-to-work check are still required before work commences).
Training will be provided as necessary, but prior experience with Zoom will be an advantage.

- Join the Zoom session well before the start time to ensure it is set up correctly and test video and audio.
- Once the presenter is ready to start, start the recording.
