OPBP hosts Lunch in celebration of National Pro Bono Week 2011

November 7th - 11th marked the 10th annual celebration of National Pro Bono Week in the UK. To commemorate this significant occasion, OPBP hosted a Sandwich Lunch on Tuesday November 8th, to which all postgraduate students were invited. Acting Dean, Professor John Cartwright, addressed a room full of keen graduates, eager to learn more about the work of OPBP. Professor Cartwright highlighted the superb work done by OPBP in the completion of a comprehensive Comparative Report on Secret Evidence for the JCHR earlier this term.

2011 OPBP internship winners Mimi Zou and Chris McConnachie were also present and spoke on their experiences in China and South Africa respectively.

A presentation was also made by undergraduate student representatives from Oxford Legal Assistance (OLA) on the work of OLA and ways in which postgraduate students may become more involved in that initiative.
