The Grand Final of the University of Oxford & Maitland Chambers Undergraduate (Inter-Collegiate) Cuppers Mooting Competition (“Cuppers”), was held on 19th February 2013. The Cuppers Moot is Oxford’s largest and most prestigious undergraduate internal mooting competition and is exclusively sponsored by Maitland Chambers. In this year’s tournament, twenty-four colleges keenly competed over two preliminary rounds, a quarter-final and a semi-final round, all judged by graduate law students at the University of Oxford. The Grand Final saw Brasenose take on St John’s. The case in the Grand Final concerned accessorial liability in criminal law, and was judged by Lord Macdonald QC, Mr Mark Cunningham QC and Mr John Dagnall. After a very close contest, James Burt and Christopher Seymour of Brasenose emerged victorious. Jake Savile-Tucker and Ian Chai from St John’s were the runners-up.
The Law Faculty expresses its gratitude to Maitland Chambers for their sponsorship of the Cuppers Moot.
