St John’s College is delighted to invite you to their first ever event in Scotland which is being held on 19 June in the beautiful surroundings of the Royal Society of Edinburgh.

The evening will start at 6.00pm with drinks and canapés followed, at 6.30pm, by a talk on the economics of Scottish Independence given by eminent economist and long-standing Fellow, Professor John Kay. Professor Kay is one of Britain's leading economists and was a member of Alex Salmond's Council of Economic Advisers in the SNP's first term of office. He has been much involved in the economic issues surrounding the independence debate and is now consulted by all sides. There will be an opportunity to discuss not just the economics of independence but the global economic developments which may be more important for Scotland's future prosperity. Professor Kay will take questions after the talk.

All are welcome, but booking is essential. If you would like to attend, please email by Friday 7th June stating your name, College affiliation and number of guests.
