The second annual Irwin Mitchell-University of Leicester Medical Law Mooting Competition took place on 30 November 2013. James Beeton (Exeter College) and Michelle Kang (Brasenose College) constituted Oxford’s team. Teams from universities across the country prepared and argued both sides of a moot problem before solicitors from Irwin Mitchell and barristers from 1 Crown Office Row. The problem raised issues of non-delegable duties on NHS Trusts with regard to the contracting out of genetics work and liability for psychiatric harm to secondary victims. Oxford’s team reached the Quarter Finals of the competition.
