A team from the University of Oxford won the United Kingdom National Championship of the 55th Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition held in Gray’s Inn, London, on 2 March 2014. Comprising of second-year undergraduate students – Sophie Scholl (Exeter), Yu Jie Wu (Magdalen), Torsten Cheong (Magdalen), Nettie Choo En Ting (Oriel), and Wei Jian Chan (Harris Manchester) – the team defeated University College London in the semi-finals and King’s College London in the final. The team was awarded the Rebecca M Wallace Trophy. Yu Jie Wu received the award for Best Oralist in the Final. The team is being coached by Bríd Ní Ghráinne (DPhil Candidate, St Antony’s College). They will now represent the United Kingdom at the International Rounds, which will be held between 6-12 April 2014 in Washington, D.C., United States of America.
