Gilles Giacca Awarded Francis Lieber Prize

Dr Gilles Giacca (former HRFG Research Fellow and Coordinator) has been awarded the Francis Lieber Prize for his book Economic, Social and Cultural Rights in Armed Conflict. The book was published by Oxford University Press last year when Dr. Giacca was in post as Programme Coordinator. The Francis Lieber prize is awarded annually by the American Society of International Law's Lieber Society on the Law of Armed Conflict to the authors of publications which the judges consider to be outstanding in the field of law and armed conflict.

The prize was annouced at the Annual meeting of the American Society of International Law in April this year.
