Professor Francis Rose appointed as a Senior Research Fellow

The Commercial Law Centre is delighted to welcome Professor Francis Rose LLD, DCL as a Senior Research Fellow of the Centre. 

Professor Rose was educated at Magdalen College and holds doctorates from the universities of London, Cambridge and Oxford.  He was most recently Professor of Maritime and Commercial Law at the Southampton Law School, and previously held chairs at the Universities of Buckingham and Bristol. 

Professor Rose has published widely in a variety of common law and commercial law fields, although his research currently focuses on shipping law.  He is an author of leading texts, including Kennedy and Rose: The Law of Salvage (currently in its 8th edition) and Marine Insurance: Law and Practice (currently in its 2nd edition). 

Professor Rose edits Lloyd's Maritime and Commercial Law Quarterly and the International Maritime and Commercial Law Yearbook.  He was the founding editor of the Company, Financial and Insolvency Law Review (now the Journal of Corporate Law Studies) and the Restitution Law Review.
