This January, Antonios Tzanakopoulos participated in the Greek Delegation taking part in the International Conference on Cyprus, a conference hosted by the UN at its Headquarters in Geneva and bringing together the guarantor powers, Greece, Turkey and the UK, along with the Republic of Cyprus and the Greek-Cypriot and Turkish-Cypriot Communities. The Conference aims at reaching a solution to the long-standing Cyprus issue, leading to a reunification of the de facto divided island. The EU was also represented at the Conference by Jean-Claude Juncker, while the UN Secretary-General, Antonio Guterrez, chaired the Conference. Antonios served as special advisor to the Greek Prime Minister, while Efthymios Papastavridis, post-doctoral researcher with the Faculty of Law, also participated in the Greek delegation on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The work of the Conference continues.
