The Oxford Women in Law (OWL) initiative was established in 2014 as network aiming to provide graduates (men and women) working in the legal profession with a neutral environment where they can meet with like-minded people and share their experiences. There have been three London-based programmes with a fourth scheduled for the end of April.

A year ago discussions took place in Hong Kong where Benita Yu, a St. Hughs alumna and partner at Slaughter and May, offered to launch the inaugural OWL event in Asia. On 21 March, in the gathering of a score of Oxford Law alumni, Benita, who is also the President of the Hong Kong Federation of Women Lawyers Limited, interviewed the Dean of Law, Professor Anne Davies on her career progression as an academic. A reception followed the Q&A where guests were able to exchange views on their own career progression. Photos are available on our Flickr page.
