The Centre for Criminology is pleased to announce that, thanks to the generosity of the Kalisher Trust and Wadham College, we will once again be offering a Kalisher Trust-Wadham Student Scholarship for UK residents applying to the MSc Criminology and Criminal Justice degree commencing in October 2018.

The scholarship is intended to encourage and assist UK residents intending to practise at the Criminal Bar who demonstrate ‘exceptional promise but modest means’. The Kalisher Trust transforms the lives of bright young people through the development of advocacy skills. They have two central aims; to help bright youngsters from disadvantaged backgrounds achieve their potential through advocacy and to help those with the requisite ability and ambition to develop careers as barristers at the criminal bar.

Director of the Centre for Criminology, Mary Bosworth, said ‘we are delighted that the Kalisher Trust and Wadham College has decided to offer the scholarship opportunity again. Ensuring that the best possible candidates have the opportunity to join in the intellectual life of the centre and ensuring that financial means are not a barrier is incredibly important to the core of the Centre’s values.’
