Linda Mulcahy has been awarded funding from the ESRC in order to explore ways of addressing what has been characterised as a skills deficit amongst socio-legal scholars without formal training in social science methodology.  This pilot scheme will build a business case for developing an open access online training programme delivered by leading socio-legal scholars from around the globe. Based at the Centre for Socio-Legal Studies one goal of the project is build the Centres emerging reputation as a national training hub for early career academics interested in law and society. The project will draw on a number of existing training initiatives including the DPhil training programme, an annual early career workshop funded by the Journal of Law in Context and an annual ESRC funded methodology masterclass for research students.
