Jonathan Herring's book Medical Law and Ethics won first prize in the BMA (British Medical Association)'s Book Awards, in the category 'The Basis of Medicine'. It is rare for a law book to awarded a prize by the BMA.

The book provides a discussion of the law and an overview of the ethical perspectives, ensuring that readers are able to fully understand the law and its context.
