Oxford Pro Bono Publico Executive Committee 2021: Call for Applications

Oxford Pro Bono Publico (OPBP), the Oxford Law Faculty’s award-winning pro bono research group, is looking for graduate students with a passion for pro bono law to join the Executive Committee for 2021. OPBP prepares pro bono, high quality, international law and comparative law research for lawyers and organisations around the world on important public interest matters. OPBP also manages an internship scheme, in partnership with the Bonavero Institute of Human Rights.

Serving on the OPBP Executive Committee is an incredible opportunity to work at the forefront of public law, human rights law and international law. Past members of the Executive Committee have gone on to pursue distinguished careers at the bar, in academia, in international organisations/ courts and in public policy.

Applications are now open for the following positions on the Executive Committee:

  1. Chairperson
  2. Deputy Chairperson
  3. Communications and Website Officer
  4. Treasurer
  5. Internships Officer
  6. Research Officer

Eligibility

Ideally, candidates should have a background in (public interest) law, although this is not a prerequisite. It is advantageous but not mandatory that applicants are currently enrolled in a programme at the Faculty of Law, University of Oxford. Applicants from other Oxford faculties and departments with a background in law and/or passion for public interest litigation are also encouraged to apply. Applicants with IT competencies will be prioritised for the position of Communications and Website Officer.

Applications should contain a curriculum vitae and a short statement of interest, including reference to whether you have volunteered for or contributed to OPBP in the past. In your application, you are welcome to indicate that you are applying for a specific position, but if you are not sure which position you would prefer, you can leave this open.
