Professor Robert Burrell delivered two training sessions for the in March 2021. These sessions explored how Trade Mark Offices should approach evidence of use. In the first session Professor Burrell explored how trade mark applicants might evidence secondary meaning in jurisdictions that have adopted a consumer reliance test for acquired distinctiveness.  The second session focused on the issue of non-use and the growing international concern that it has become all too easy for trade mark owners to submit fake specimens.
