Part-time Research Director of the Oxford Human Rights Hub
The Oxford Human Rights Hub was established in 2012. Our aim is to use the connective powers of technology to build global networks of scholars and practitioners in order to share new developments and enhance human rights. We are particularly committed to providing a platform for voices who are often not heard and to ensuring that the highest quality analyses of human rights law developments are easily accessible and open access. Since its establishment, the OxHRH has created a rich body of research and learning tools for students, teachers, academics, and advocates of human rights law, both in Oxford and beyond. We now have an established global presence, which continues to grow. We have 20,200 Twitter followers; over 7000 Facebook followers; 22,000 unique website views a month and an international mailing list of almost 2000 subscribers.
The Faculty of Law seeks to appoint a temporary Research Director of the Oxford Human Rights Hub, while the Director, Professor Sandy Fredman, holds a major officer role in the Faculty. Reporting to Professor Fredman, the Research Director will lead the Hub team, providing leadership and innovation across the full range of the Hub’s activities, including the blog, podcasts, and Legal and Policy Impact. They will work alongside the Director and Deputy Director of the Blog Editorial Team and Podcast Team to ensure the smooth-running of the whole Hub.
The successful candidate will be expected to hold an LLM or higher degree, focusing on human rights; have Exceptional knowledge of human rights from a global and comparative perspective; excellent communication skills; strong management skills and innovation in digital communication.
The role is part time (0.5 FTE) and fixed term until 30 September 2024 and will be based at the Faculty of Law, St Cross Building, St Cross Road, Oxford, OX1 3UL
