Blerina completed her PhD in Psychology at the University of St Andrews. Her PhD thesis investigated the impact of social identities on health and well-being in post-conflict societies. She has worked with Dr Mary Bosworth on the project investigating the Quality of Life in Detention centres since July 2010. Blerina’s interest is on understanding impact of extreme life events (including detention, torture and human right abuses) on health and well-being. She has published on issues related to identity, trauma, torture, detention and well-being.
