Can Luo


Dr. Can Luo is an associate professor in law at the School of Artificial Intelligence and Law in Southwest University of Political Science and Law (P.R.China), a researcher of Applied Jurisprudence Research Centre of Supreme Court of China & SWUPL, a member of 2011 Plan Smart Judicature Research Center in Chongqing in China. She is also the Director of Research Center of Intelligent Manufacturing and Big Data Rules, Chongqing Research Institute of Jilin University, the director of Data Protection Research Center, Big Data Law Research Institute in Southwest China, a fellow of China Insurance Law Association, a member of Editorial Board of the AIDA ( International Insurance Law Association) Europe Research Series on Insurance Law and Regulation, an editor of Law Review of Applied Jurisprudence in China. 

Can’s academic interests are mainly in all areas of insurance and reinsurance law and has made contributions to the comparative research of insurance laws in China, UK and Europe in recent years.

As for academic achievements in Chinese, she is the author of 1 book, the co-author of 2 books and has published more than 20 articles in CSSCI journals (Chinese Social Sciences Citation Index) and other authoritative journals and newspapers. She is the Director of “A Theoretical Reconstruction of the Public Function of Liability Insurance in the Era of Artificial Intelligence” granted by National Social Science Foundation of China which is the first state-level project of "Artificial Intelligence + Insurance" in China. She also presides 1 province-Level project and is the major member of 2 state-level projects, 2 ministry-level projects, 6 province-level projects. Regarding her English Publications, she has published four articles about new technology and insurance in KCI (Korean Citation Index) journals. And she is a co-author of two books which will be published from Springer.
