Professor of the Philosophy of Law, Faculty of Law in association with Balliol College

We are looking to appoint an outstanding legal scholar to the Professorship of the Philosophy of Law who will provide leadership in teaching and research at the highest level in the field of the philosophy of law, broadly defined to include philosophical investigations relevant to law, and will maintain and enhance the Law Faculty’s outstanding global reputation in this area of scholarship. 

You should have an outstanding research and publication record, an exciting research agenda and strong teaching, supervision and intellectual leadership skills. You will be expected to contribute to the long-term development of the study of jurisprudence and the philosophy of law both within the Oxford Law Faculty and in the wider academic community.

The closing dates for applications is 12.00 GMT on Monday 10 October 2022.

Applications are particularly welcome from women and black and minority ethnic candidates, who are under-represented in academic posts in Oxford.
