Research Assistant, Bonavero Institute of Human Rights

Professor Kate O’Regan is looking for a research assistant to help with the preparation of materials for publication over the next six months.
The research assistant will be involved in cite-checking and proof-reading, among other tasks.
Duration and hours
Working hours: a total of 150 hours across the duration of the project, to be agreed with the Supervisor.
Start date: 9th February 2024
Date by which the work must be completed: 30th August 2024
Reporting
The Research Assistant will report to Kate O’Regan, Director of the Bonavero Institute of Human Rights.
Requirements
- Interest in and knowledge of the field of comparative constitutional law is essential.
- Experience of the following software/applications is essential: MS Word
- Experience of law referencing systems is essential.
- Experience of editing and cite-checking legal publications is desirable.
- Good spreadsheet (Excel) skills are desirable.
The research assistant's normal place of work will be the Bonavero Institute of Human Rights based at Mansfield College, Mansfield Road. The research assistant will be provided with a shared desk in the Helena Kennedy Reading Room at the Bonavero Institute of Human Rights for the duration of the project.
Provided they have the agreement of your PI/Supervisor, and a suitable space to work (including library access if required), it may be possible for the research assistant to undertake the work remotely, which could be anywhere in the UK.

Eligibility
This opportunity is open to current graduate students in the Law Faculty and the hours are in line with the restrictions on working hours for students within Law.
It is expected that the work will be undertaken in the UK.
Rate of Pay
The work will be paid at £17.03 per hour, which equates to University Grade 6, point 1, on the basis of completed and approved timesheets, which must be submitted to payroll@law.ox.ac.uk by the last Friday of each calendar month for payment on the last working day of the following month.
In addition, paid annual leave will be assumed to be taken in the month in which it was accrued.
