Research Assistant – Climate Litigation Workshop Research Assistance

Dr Ekaterina Aristova is looking for a research assistant to support a workshop on climate change litigation. The workshop will be hosted by the Bonavero Institute of Human Rights on 22 November 2023 and is one of the outcomes of the research project funded by Leverhulme Trust.

Tasks for the Research Assistant will be:

  1. To attend the workshop in November and take notes;
  2. To assist with report writing, including reference citation checking and publication formatting;
  3. To provide some administrative assistance in advance of and following the conference.

 

Duration and hours

Working hours: a total of up to 120 hours across the duration of the project, to be agreed with the project supervisor.

Start date: 25 October 2023 at earliest.

End date: 1 March 2024.

 

Reporting

The Research Assistant will report to Dr Ekaterina Aristova.

 

Requirements

  • A knowledge of primary developments and key trends in climate change litigation is essential.
  • Good text editing, proof-reading and formatting skills are essential.
  • Experience in organising public events is desirable.

You must attend the workshop on 22 November 2023 in-person, but otherwise it may be possible to undertake the work remotely, which could be anywhere in the UK.

Eligibility

This opportunity is open to current graduate students in the Faculty of Law, and the hours are in line with the restrictions on working hours for students within the Law Faculty.

It is expected that the work will be undertaken in the UK. 

 

Rate of Pay

The work will be paid at £17.03 per hour, which equates to University Grade 6, point 1, on the basis of completed and approved timesheets, which must be submitted to payroll@law.ox.ac.uk by the last Friday of each calendar month for payment on the last working day of the following month.

In addition, paid annual leave will be assumed to be taken in the month in which it was accrued.
