Research Assistant, Transplantation Medicine Expert Interviews Podcast

Dr Farrah Raza is looking for a research assistant to help with ‘Interviews with the Experts’ Podcast Series in Transplantation Medicine

The project aims: To assist with an ‘interviews with experts’ podcast project which focuses on how the law is understood in practice. The project will consist of a series of podcasts with the purpose of building a comprehensive picture of the legal, ethical, and clinical complexities in transplantation medicine.

Tasks for the Research Assistant will include:

  1. Conducting interviews with selected experts
  2. Creating, editing, and uploading podcasts 
  3. Assisting with managing the project webpage.

 

Duration and hours

Working hours: a total of up to 24 hours across the duration of the project, to be agreed with the project supervisor.

Start date: 1 October 2023

Date by which the work must be completed: 31st January 2024

 

Reporting

The Research Assistant will report to Dr Farrah Raza.

 

Requirements

  • A good understanding of the field of Medical law is essential.
  • Experience of the legal systems in the following countries is essential: the UK (specifically England and Wales).
  • Experience of law referencing systems is essential.
  • Good spreadsheet (Excel) skills are essential.
  • A knowledge  of Criminal Law is desirable.
  • Experience of the legal systems in the following countries is desirable: Germany.
  • The following language skills are desirable: German.
  • Experience of empirical research is desirable.
  • Experience of using Drupal or other website content management systems is desirable.
  • Experience of managing social media communications is desirable
  • Experience of video editing is desirable.

The work can be done in any place in the UK where you have access to a good library and internet. Meetings with the PI/team members will be held in-person in Oxford or held online.

 

Eligibility

This opportunity is open to current graduate students in the Faculty of Law and the hours are in line with the restrictions on working hours for students within the Law Faculty. It is expected that the work will be undertaken in the UK. 

 

Rate of Pay

The work will be paid at £17.03 per hour, which equates to University Grade 6, point 1, on the basis of completed and approved timesheets, which must be submitted to payroll@law.ox.ac.uk by the last Friday of each calendar month for payment on the last working day of the following month.

In addition, paid annual leave will be assumed to be taken in the month in which it was accrued.

This opportunity is funded by a Law Faculty Internet Engagement Fund award (FIEF2223-04).

Full-time graduate students in the Faculty of Law may work up to 8 hours per week, or a common sense average across the year, regardless of the type of work.

Students may not work for their own supervisor without the approval of the Associate Dean for Graduate Students.
