The Faculty of Law is looking for a Researcher to work within the Death Penalty Research Unit (DPRU) to provide research support to the Director, Professor Hoyle and the Project Manager, Daniel Cullen. The Researcher will be reporting to the Director of the Death Penalty Research Unit and be based in the Centre for Criminology.

The Researcher will be responsible for supporting the DPRU in the day-to-day administration of research projects, in promoting and editing the DPRU website, the Research Paper Series, the DPRU blog, and social media accounts, and managing their own research and administrative activities, within guidelines provided by senior colleagues and contributing to wider project planning, including ideas for new research projects.

The successful candidate will hold a first degree in a social science subject, be working towards or hold a doctorate in criminology or a related social science, possess sufficient specialist knowledge in the discipline to work within established research programmes, have experience of working in project teams on criminological research. It would be desirable for candidates to have experience of working in a research team and contributing ideas for new research projects.

This is a part-time (0.2 FTE or 15 hours per week), fixed term post for 5 months. The postholder will be based at the Centre for Criminology, St Cross Building, St Cross Road, Oxford.
