Researcher - Oxford Media Policy Summer Institute (internal applicants only)
Grade 6: £32,332-£38,205 per annum
Reporting to the Head of the Programme for Comparative Media Law & Policy (PCMLP), Dr Nicole Stremlau, the post holder is a member of a research group with responsibility for carrying out research and covering organisational and research gaps created by the vacancy of the Associate Professor of Law in a Digital World post in the planning and execution of the Oxford Media Policy Summer Institute.
The successful candidate will support the organisation of the Summer Institute, including curriculum development, securing speakers, publicity and recruitment of delegates, arranging social and community-building events, planning and organising group work and seminars, securing bursaries from organisations, and supporting the delivery of the Summer Institute. They will also contribute to the academic research programme of PCMLP and administrative activities. This involves small scale project management, to co-ordinate multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines.
Applicants should hold a first degree, together with some relevant experience; possess sufficient specialist knowledge in the discipline to work within established research programmes; ability to manage own research and administrative activities; excellent communication skills, including the ability to write text that can be published, present data at conferences, and represent the research group at meetings.
This post is full time and fixed term from 1 February 2024 to 31 August 2024. The postholder will be based at the Centre for Socio-Legal Studies, Manor Road, Manor Road Building, OX1 3UQ
