Senior Administrator for the Masters in Law and Finance and Postgraduate Taught Courses

Grade 7: £35,308 - £43,155 per annum

The Faculty of Law seeks to appoint a Senior Administrator who will be responsible for leading the administrative support for the Masters in Law and Finance (MLF) programme and co-ordinating all aspects of the work of the MLF team, under the direction of the MLF Academic Director. They will also have a wider role in supporting elements of administration common to all Postgraduate Taught Courses (PGTs) in the Faculty, working closely with the Associate Dean for Taught Graduate Students, other course directors, and the Academic Administrator to help set policy for the Faculty, lead the administrative team, and take a lead in the development and implementation of new initiatives.  The Senior Administrator will also have responsibility for the professional line management of a group of course administrators, including the two other members of the MLF team.

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level or holding a broadly equivalent academic or professional qualification; have proven administrative experience in a comparable role that demonstrates a capacity to understand and implement effectively various and complex administrative systems and processes; ability to shepherd new initiatives from conceptualisation and design through to implementation and post-implementation evaluation; experience of supervising the work of colleagues, preferably in a managerial role; and effective interpersonal skills at all levels, able to communicate confidently and appropriately with an extensive range of people and to demonstrate tact and discretion; high standard of written and oral communication; excellent organisational skills and efficient working methods; ability to manage and prioritise a number of competing tasks and be able to work independently, undertaking research and using own initiative with good judgement for assessing when advice or approval is required.

The post is full time and permanent and the postholder will be based in the Law Faculty, St Cross Building, St Cross Road, Oxford, OX1 3UL.  The Law Faculty operates a flexible working policy, in which it is possible to arrange some remote working by agreement with the line manager, usually after the initial probationary and training period have been completed.
