Social Sciences Division Incubator Themes

These incubator themes aim to build on Oxford’s multiple disciplinary strengths and improve our collaborative research capacity in order to encourage the development of new, cutting edge research themes; and to enhance our success with interdisciplinary and multi-partner research funding awards.

The two current funded themes are described on the SSD webpages: 'Inequality and Wellbeing' and 'Borders and Displacements'

OVERVIEW OF SCHEME:

The current five themes are:

  • uncertainty and risk

  • resources and livelihoods

  • human rights and freedoms

  • connectivity and belonging

  • expertise and knowledge

    Briefings about the five themes are being held in the Manor Road Building on Wednesday 27th January, 4-5pm, Seminar Room A; Wednesday 3rd February, 4-5pm, Seminar Room A; Thursday 4th February, 4-5pm, Seminar Room G. Use the doodle poll on the SSD pages to sign up.
