Engaging (Media) Communications for Academics

23 May 2017 | 09:30 – 17:30 | Seminar Room, Radcliffe Humanities

A very popular session and the last opportunity this academic year for you to participate. With an increasing focus on your research having an impact beyond the academy it is important for researchers to have the skills and to feel comfortable talking to the media. This workshop provides an exciting opportunity to get in-depth knowledge and practical hands-on media training (including on camera interviews) from two experienced BBC producers and journalists that will give you confidence engaging with mainstream and social media to gain a wider audience for your research. This session is suitable for any career stage.

Trainers: Claire Bolderson, news journalist and documentary maker and Caroline Finnegan, media producer.
