THE 2nd ANNIVERSARY OF THE OFFICIAL OPENING OF THE BONAVERO INSTITUTE
The 15th of June marks 2 years since the Bonavero Institute was formally opened at Mansfield College, Oxford, by the late Kofi Annan, UN Secretary General (1997-2006). Mr Annan commented;
“I have no doubt that the scholarship and imagination that the Bonavero Institute will stimulate, and the outreach to civil society that it has put at the heart of its mission, will help realise the ultimate promise of human rights - creating a better world for all humankind.”
On Human Rights Day, the Bonavero Institute launched a short film chronicling Eleanor Roosevelt's role in drafting the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Highlights include extracts from an address by Hillary Rodham Clinton and commentary by Allida Black, Roosevelt's biographer.
