The 15th of June marks 2 years since the Bonavero Institute was formally opened at Mansfield College, Oxford, by the late Kofi Annan, UN Secretary General (1997-2006). During the course of his remarks, Mr Annan observed -

“I have no doubt that the scholarship and imagination that the Bonavero Institute will stimulate, and the outreach to civil society that it has put at the heart of its mission, will help realise the ultimate promise of human rights - creating a better world for all humankind.”

Since the Institute’s inception, we have hosted numerous valuable conversations on human rights scholarship and practice, supported Oxford students in their pursuit of human rights careers, undertaken research projects on topical issues in human rights, collaborated with human rights courts and organisations across the world, and expanded our global reach.

On this occasion, we would like to thank everyone who has supported us and shown interest in our work. We look forward to further collaboration and engagement with you. We remain ever-committed to stimulating research and scholarship in human rights and the rule of law, and will continue to put civil society at the heart of our mission in the years to come!
