12 October 2015: The Annual Global Justice Lecture - Sir Christopher Greenwood

The Annual Oxford Global Justice Lecture will be given by Judge Sir Christopher Greenwood KCMG QC (International Court of Justice) who will speak on "State Immunity and Human Rights" on 12 October 2015 in The Gulbenkian, Law Faculty, St Cross Road, at 5.30pm. All Welcome and no registration necessary.

Calls for accountability for human rights violations frequently run into the barrier of State (and diplomatic) immunity.  This lecture will consider whether contemporary international law permits, or requires, national courts to limit immunity in cases of alleged human rights violations and, if not, whether the law on this subject should change.
