Alternative Dispute Resolution and Justice at Wolfson College

The Fourth Annual Oxford Consumer ADR Conference, entitled 'ADR AND JUSTICE', was held at Wolfson College on 18-20 April 2016. The event continued to expand on previous successful years, including representation from seven governments, contributions from virtually all of the leading Ombudsmen from UK, France, Germany and Ireland, and attracted over 100 participants.

The conference focused on three themes: I. Implementation of the Consumer ADR Directive, presented by Eline Verhage (Leiden University) and Prof Christopher Hodges (Centre for Socio-Legal Studies University of Oxford); II. Trust in Ombudsmen, presentation by Dr Naomi Creutzfeldt (Westminster University) of the highly important results of her ESRC Study; and III. ADR and Justice, led by Dr Felix Steffek (Cambridge University), including major contributions from Diana Wallis (President of the European Law Institute), Prof Stefaan Voet (KU Leuven), Richard Thomas CBE, Prof Ulla Glaesser (European University Viadrina) and keynote speaker Prof Carrie Menkel-Meadow (UCLA and Georgetown).
