A new text, Commentary on the European Insolvency Regulation, has recently been published by Oxford University Press. The book is edited by Reinhard Bork and Kristin van Zwieten. Dr van Zwieten is the Clifford Chance Associate Professor of Law and Finance at the University of Oxford, and a Fellow of Harris Manchester College, and Professor Bork was recently the Robert S Campbell Visiting Fellow at Magdalen College.
The book provides an article-by-article commentary on the recast European Insolvency Regulation, which will enter into force in 2017. The commentary is prefaced by an introductory chapter that explains the rationale for the existence of the Regulation, charts the background to its enactment, identifies the key features of the Regulation as originally made and as recast, and makes some suggestions for its future development.
The commentary has been drafted by experts from various European jurisdictions: Kristin van Zwieten, Georg Ringe, Sir Richard Snowden, Francisco Garcimartin, Miguel Virgos, Michael Veder, Paul Oberhammer, Renato Mangano (an academic visitor to the Commercial Law Centre in 2016), Bob Wessels, Reinhard Dammann, Katja Lenzing, Jessica Schmidt, and Tibor Tajti.
