Part-time Researcher in Drought and Water Scarcity

Dr Kevin Grecksch is looking for a Researcher in Drought and Water Scarcity to assist on a small research project on the governance of drought and water scarcity: “Managing drought and water scarcity – Strategies and options for the UK’s large industrial consumers”.

The appointment is part-time for 18.75 hours (50% FTE) per week.  The work is to start as soon as possible and will run for four months.  The project is funded by the Oxford University John Fell Fund. 
The postholder will report to Dr Kevin Grecksch.

Reporting to the Principal Investigator, you will be the researcher on a small research project on the governance of drought and water scarcity: “Managing drought and water scarcity – Strategies and options for the UK’s large industrial water consumers”. You will locate and analyse literature and documents regarding drought and water scarcity management of large industrial water consumers in the UK and prepare a report comparing the approaches in literature and across the different industries in the UK. Additionally, you will conduct up to five in-depth interviews with representatives of the respective industries.

Applicants should hold a degree in a relevant subject such as Law, Geography, Economics, Sociology, Political Science, or Environmental Studies and possess sufficient familiarity with the relevant literature and regulations to be able to conduct the research efficiently.

The Researcher will be paid at the standard research assistant rate of £14.56 per hour plus holiday pay of £2.49 = total of £17.05 per hour.
