On 6 and 7 January 2017, the fourth workshop in the Defences in Private Law series took place. It concerned defences in equity, was hosted by Paul Davies, Simon Douglas and James Goudkamp and took place in Jesus College. Participants in the workshop included the Hon Justice Russell Brown (Supreme Court of Canada), Mr David Cheifetz (Oxford), Dr David Fox (Cambridge), Professor Joshua Getzler (Oxford), Professor Birke Häcker (Oxford); Associate Professor Christopher Hare (Oxford), Professor Lusina Ho (Hong Kong University), the Hon Justice Mark Leeming (New South Wales Court of Appeal), Dr Ying Khai Liew (UCL), Professor Charles Mitchell (UCL), the Rt Hon Sir Philip Sales (Court of Appeal of England and Wales), Professor Henry Smith (Harvard Law School), Professor Robert Stevens (Oxford) and Dr Peter Turner (Cambridge).
