Luca Enriques,  Allen & Overy Professor of Corporate Law, has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the European Corporate Governance Institute (ECGI).

The appointment was announced at the ECGI's Annual Members’ Meeting in Berlin on 3 - 4 May.

The ECGI is an international scientific non-profit association providing a forum for debate and dialogue between academics, legislators and practitioners, focusing on major corporate governance issues and thereby promoting best practice. The Institute is headed by a Board of Directors, a majority of whom are drawn from academia in order to ensure the ECGI's academic independence. Other directors have strong ties with the private and public sectors. All are impartially committed to furthering the Institute's goals and mission.

Speaking at the event, Professor Marco Becht, Executive Director, ECGI said

ECGI extends a warm welcome to Luca Enriques who has been a long-standing member of ECGI. As Editor of the ECGI Working Paper Law Series and a member of the Research Committee, Luca already contributes generously of his time to the organisation and we look forward to his input on the board as ECGI continues to develop its activities in the years ahead.
