Launch of Oxford Women* in Law Student Society (OWLSS)

In collaboration with the Oxford Women in Law network for alumni, students have launched their own OWL student society 

With 2019 marking the 100th anniversary of women in the UK entering the legal professions, we are pleased to report the launch of a new student-founded society aiming to promote greater gender equality and diversity in the law. The Oxford Women* in Law 

Student Society (OWLSS) will provide a diverse and inclusive networking community for women*, non-binary, transgender and intersex people to share experiences and support each other in building careers in the legal world. There are currently committee positions open, please see the Oxford Women in Law Student Society's Facebook page for more details.

From Trinity term 2019 onwards, OWLSS will be hosting weekly speaker events and panel discussions with legal professionals from a variety of backgrounds to celebrate the exceptional achievements of women* and people of other underrepresented gender identities in the law. The events will aim to highlight the diversity of legal career paths and hope to give an impulse for a broader conversation on the future of women* in law.

OWLSS will collaborate with the growing alumni network OWL to source speakers, mentors, and opportunities.
