Delivering Justice – A Roundtable
Associated people
70 senior judges, Ombudsmen, officials, mediators, regulators and academics debated the state and future of the justice system in England and Wales on 24 January 2020.
Conclusions included the fact that the ‘system’ is now extremely diverse and its complexity presents challenges for people who have disputes and those who try to resolve them. Much change and innovation is occurring through digitisation and new intermediaries. The basis of the day’s discussion was the detailed analysis in Prof Chris Hodges’ book Delivering Dispute Resolution and Lord Thomas’ Commission’s Report on Justice in Wales. Further discussions are envisaged on specific areas, as is research led by Prof Linda Mulcahy.
