Shona Minson, whose work on the rights of children whose parents are in prison has led to changes in sentencing guidelines, has created a video with Dr Laura Abbott, an expert on pregnancy in prison, to call for the release of pregnant women who are in prison in light of the spread of coronavirus. The Chief Medical Officer has advised pregnant women to self-isolate for 12 weeks but in the prison environment this is problematic. The campaign has been highlighted in an article in the Independent.
